I just thought I would check in with all of you and let you know how the team is progressing since we haven't had a race in a couple of weeks. We got to run our first workout in the rain out at the park. Everybody seemed to enjoy running in the wetness and splashing in the puddles. That first rain work out always seems to be a lot of fun for the runners. The kids are working hard and I look forward to the next four weeks as we keep preparing to peak at the CMC championship in November.
What’s coming up:
Tuesday is picture day. All athletes need to remember to bring their uniform.
On Wednesday we will be headed up to Lower Lake for our 3rd league meet. We will be competing against Pt. Arena. Lower Lake and Ft. Bragg will also be there competing against each other. The meet starts at 3:30 and will be held at Adams Spring Golf Course. The athletes will be going by bus and need to be on board with all your gear ready for a 12:30 departure. Don't forget your water bottles.
On Saturday we will be competing at the Cowboy Canyon Invite in Castaic. This meet has confirmed entries from 101 teams, with 1955 athletes participating. You will be able to find results at EPIsports.com.There will be two divisions, large school and small school. Small schools are schools with 2000 students or less. Pretty big by our standards!
We will be leaving for Castaic from the school at about 12 noon on Friday. Athletes should pack a brown bag meal for the trip. While we are down there, we will be staying at the La Quinta in Santa Clarita. After the meet on Saturday the kids will be going to Magic Mountain. We will return to Sonoma County on Sunday. On Wednesday the 19th, after we get back from Castaic, we will have our second and last home meet. It will also be 'Sr. Day' so be sure and mark your calendars.
